Artist Statement

I feel a strong connection to the earth. For me the earth is grounding, it keeps me happy and thus it fuels me and my art. Whether jewelry or paintings, there is always an earth component interwoven into the materials used, the theme, or most often, both.

Rocks, gems, precious metals, textures, shapes, colors, animals, rivers, flow, abstraction, gestures and elusiveness are threads and substance that are interwoven. They help me to create an amulet, a divine structure to be worn as a personal statement. These same inspirations are in my paintings, they enhance one’s environment and amplify a personal expression much like my jewelry does when worn.

It’s gratifying to create something that translates into a common language that stirs the soul of others.
